Botanical Garden

Founded in the 16th Centuries as an herbal and medicinal plant garden. On the 3-acre site are now about 9,000 plant species cultivated. Attractions are the greenhouses with palm trees, fern, cacti and orchids. In summer, there are more than 200 colorful butterflies in the butterfly house.

Clara-Zetkin-Park
Leipzig's famous city park is laid out in the style of the 19th
Century, with forest and meadow landscape. In summer, it is a perfect place for relaxing on the meadows. There is also a stage in the park. Here, you can see pop concerts in an intimate atmosphere. Beyond the flood bed of the Elster, there is the forest area "Auenwald" with many bicycle and walking paths.

Deutsche Nationalbibliothek
More than 13 million volumes are stored at the German National Library in Leipzig, founded in 1912 by the Booksellers Association of the German booksellers.
Since then, German publications from all over the world are collected here. The building also houses the German Book and Script Museum. The oldest book museum in the world (1884) provides answers on many questions and tells the story of the book to the modern era.

St. Thomas church
The St. Thomas church is well known, not only for Thomanern, one of the best boys' choirs in Germany and its most famous cantor: Johann Sebastian Bach.
Prior to the south entrance, there is a monument from the great composer. On Whitsunday, 1539, Martin Luther preached here. The day is regarded as the foundation of the Reformation in Saxony. Luther and Bach are dedicated to two of the stained glass windows in the choir room.
The 68 meter high tower received its Baroque dome in 1702. The large green area in front of the St. Thomas Church is a popular meeting place for young people.
